The venue itself was kind of cramped and awkwardly constructed. I had the feeling that it was built for another purpose and then re-modeled. Also, I didn't get in with enough time to watch Kate's tourmates play (The Whitest Light) which is a bummer because I usually like to watch the whole set. But when Kate finally did go on around 9pm, she was really energetic. So much so, that most of my pictures came out blurry. Even on the slow songs, her hands flew all over the place, a la Christina Aguilera. And her songs were much more on the rock side than I remember from her Myspace page and on Project Playlist-- where I originally discovered her through an ad. Kate definitely reminds me of Michelle Branch, which is a good thing. The female rocker genre really needs a new poster gal. Kate might as well be the one.

I saw Kate at The Blend in Ridgewood, NJ. The place was awesome, it had such a cool vibe [Kate loved the place, also :)], but there were some really rude fans that were pushing everybody which pissed me off, but whatever. Kate was AMAZING, I was the first to notice her coming onto the stage and the first to scream, I pumped the crowd up haha. She looked at me multiple times during the songs and smiled, as I was singing along to EVERY word [I know she loves when you sing along]. Whenever anyone took a picture she tried to look into their camera so they could get a good one [SO SWEET!]. Anyway, you KNOW all the songs were incredible! People mostly sang along to "Kindly Unspoken" and "No Good" and during "Devil in Me", Kate left the stage for some reason, but Sam [guitar player for those who don't know] got to do an AWESOME solo! If you want to know the set list, I have a picture of it [which is in the gallery- check it out]! :) Overall- MOST AMAZING NIGHT OF MY LIFE!
